Three Categories need to be looked at:
City--New York, from the Empire State Building by night,
from the Jersey shore, fron an airplane approaching Manhattan, from a bus leaving the metropolis...
Countryside--I haven't been everywhere, but my most beautiful place was Epidaurus Greece, the theater there or else the back side of the Castle Hill in Prague as one walks down to the Charles Bridge..
Other--The mountains of Lone Pine, California and Needles, surrounded by the the many peaks of the Sierras.

Middle of the Pacific Ocean somewhere between Rarotonga and Atiu in the Cooks...
Night time... standing at the bow of the cargo ship as it carved through a field of glow-in-the-dark algae... billions of stars shining brightly in the sky and reflecting in the water... warm wind rushing past me...
Words could never describe.
