Gun control in no manner means outlawing guns. Its the old knee jerk reaction and that most idiotic argument if you propose something then you have to take to the the tenth power of infinity. Just like drinking water is good for you but drinking too much water will kill you, thus there shouldn't be an absolute of anything. Now going back to you example, you might remember we do regulate automobiles and its users, maybe more heavily then guns. You have to pass a written and practical test to be able to operate an automobile. No such thing required for guns. You get penalized for speeding, accidents etc. No such things for guns. Automobile insurance is another way to monitor and regulate the use of automobiles. Your State Drivers License states its a privilege not a right. Your ability to operate automobiles could be suspended. Sometimes its better to give things a little more thought, then lets say what Druggie Limbaugh would do.

how does obesity cost the gov money, if anything it makes em cash, and most gov officials are fat themselves, it's unconstitutional.... (no, the constitution says nothing of obesity, but the writers of it were kinda big based on historical images and stuff)

What would we do for a government? Have you looked at the stock of congress and the sheds they display? Obesity would not be a favorite in the outlaw department but they would be easier to find than the mentally ill.

Sure, outlaw all fast food. Out law all automobiles as well. Many car crashes. And, let's get rid of boats, planes, bicycles, rollerblades, and ice skates. Ohhhh, and how about all over the counter medicines, pesticides, cleaners, or anything else people can poison themselves with. We should also get rid of electricity. I'm sure there are plenty more things as well.

After all, we have to protect everyone from everything.

No. We just shouldn't give them free healthcare whenever they show up in the Emergency Room without insurance.

And if they do have insurance, they should be a surcharge premium because there is no question that they are using a disproprtionate amount of care.

Ditto-- and more so -- for smokers. Obese people have yet to forcefeed me--but smokers forcing me to inhale their 2nd hand poison truly ticks me off.

I think we should FORCE all children to finish High School with a "B" or better. They would have to keep going until they graduated with that grad or better.

Lack of education costs the U.S. more than obesity, smoking or any thing else.

And - the taxpayers tooo....we end up supporting the bums. At least a person who is obese buys his/her own food.
