Steve Dalkowski is still alive - when he played, people thought he might be hitting 110 mph. (The reason you've never heard of him is that he had no control, and a guy throwing a baseball 100+ mph with no idea where it's going is not going to be a successful major leaguer.)

Alive? Unsure. Nolan Ryan was clocked over 100 MPH a few times. There will always be debate on that issue because over the years pitchers were timed by different types of rader guns.
Bob Feller was timed by one type the year he was 17-years old and fanned 17 batters in a game. Years later a more reliable gun was perfected.
Bottom line... no one really knows. Could be a guy in the minors right now or even in college.

Mark Wohlers has the official record, but Ryan probably threw faster in his heyday. Zumaya throws the fastest right now.

An area? heavily, you're thirteen. you will strengthen, your muscle tissues will mature. which would be a super area for you suitable there. in case you pick the terrific basic suggestion, that's shop enjoying, and prepare solid habbits. youngsters that are extremely solid at a youthful age, get lazy and get lackadasical. They strengthen undesirable habbits and turn into yet another "ought to-have-been." Do a ton of take a seat-ups, its significant for throwing and hitting. Get a sturdy abdomen, and you will upload pop on your swing and pa on your throws. Thats the only area a thirteen 12 months previous extremely desires. in case you pick innovations and innovations, I reccomend Nolan Ryans Pitching bible (in case you pitch) and Ted William's handbook to Hitting. the two are impressive books and helped me understand their mentality interior the sport. bear in mind "ninety% of baseball is 0.5 psychological."

Sid Finch. Sports Illustrated had a story on him 4-1-86. He never made the majors due to a control issue but was hitting the radar guns at something close to 140mph. Unhittable when he was on. Great 20 page SI story, look it up!
