my ex was an abusive alcoholic and I grew to hate the smell of alcohol. now we have been apart for two years and I am drinking a pint or more of whiskey at least three times a week or more. I am starting to have problems with it. The day after, I have been fainting, which comes off as convulsions or seizures to the ppl around me. I cant stop because I don't want to. I will not go to AA. Been there done that when I was a teen. Why do you think I am doing this to myself? I'm in a wonderful relationship now, but am making him miserable with my drinking, but I don't want to stop. Just want him to get over it.

You want him to get over but you are not over it. It sounds like you know you have a problem of some sorts but do not want to address it. You will lose your guy especially with the attitude you have. The only one who can answer why you are doing this to yourself is you. The first statement you make is "I never drank before" but the later you state you went to AA when you were a teen...sounds to me like denial. Seek help or continue in you downward spiral that you know you are in.

Well, you might want to check out those AA meetings again. Maybe you'll get something out of them that you didn't get before. Maybe if you do that and get sober, you won't lose this relationship . . . but I can pretty much guarantee he'll leave you if you keep up what you're doing. Healthy guys just don't stay with women who regularly drink a pint or more of booze at one sitting.

you are binge drinking, which is a sign of alcoholism. most people who don't want to go to AA or get help through counseling are in DENIAL...

you become ill and ar fainting? please get help. you won't have a "wonderful relationship" for long if you continue to use. in fact, your liver will eventually stop functioning, your brain will get more and more messed up, you'll get the shakes, and you could end up in a psychiatric hospital. or worse.

take it from me, a fellow (recovering) alcoholic.

take care of YOU. please. hugz
