Wash in hot water and a dry in a hot dryer.

If the material was preshrunk, you can't. The more synthetic polyester in the Tshirt, the less likely it will shrink.
Give the very hot water and hot dryer a try. You'll know after the first wash.

wash it in warm water (hot if it is lighter color) and dry in the dryer.

Keep putting it in the dryer. Or just alter it if you know, or know someone who can sew. That's what I do.
