He's drinking in the other room with a bunch of his friends. AND it's final exam period.

I'm not going to go out there...so are there any other suggestions?

Earplugs.

Ugh, housemates can be so inconsiderate and annoying!

Hmm... well, you might want to invest in some ear plugs. Those work wonders... though I know that doesn't help you right at this moment.

Sorry, I don't have any ideas for the moment. As I said, earplugs will help in the future. Good luck!

You can't ... you might try going out there calmly and letting him know you are studying for finals, but my guess is that he doesn't really care, because he should be doing the same thing.

Pack up a bag and head over the library. Keep peace and get your studying done. If he is any kind of roommate at all he will see what happened and apologize tomorrow. But, don't be the farm on it.

make flash cards, invite over a bunch of friends, and act like the answers to your studying are the funniest things this side of funny itself. Laugh riot. Not only will you be studying but you'll be making enough noise to annoy drunks.

Who's place is it? Yours or his? If it's his thans there's not much you can do except block out the noise with headphones or go somewhere else. If it's your place you need to tell him to keep the noise down. Which ever way sounds like you need to find a new roomie or get your own place.

Your best bet is to study somewhere else for now because a drinker is determined to continue doing just that...drink! No campus security? After this, ask for a new roomate!

Send in the exotic dancers with ropes and a cloth dipped in chloroform. He'll be quiet for a while.

Wake him up at 5 am when you get up to study. =)

Otherwise I'd suggest the Library, usually open longer during exam period and they're quiet.

Call the cops stating you have a person who is really loud (noise ordinance) with an anonymous name and hell never know! VOILE! study session noise free! :)

You need to talk to him about this when he is sober. I doubt if they will care when they are partying. Is it possible to go to the library or a friends house to study as a last resort?
