is it possible? how to do this using nero? i want to burn more than 1 700MB avi file so that I CAN PLAY IT IN MY DVD PLAYER ON TV.

Since your DVD player likely won't play AVIs (or you'd have said so), the answer is "not really", since if you turn AVIs back into MPEG2s, they become like 2-3 GB files, and a DVD is only like 4-something GBs. If you got lucky you may fit 2, but certainly no more than that.

If the source is pretty lousy you can try encoding at Half-D1 resolution instead of full D1, but usually that doesn't save THAT much space. However, it depends the movie, the encoder/converter you use, and whether it even offers that option. Most just assume full-D1, and don't even offer the half-D1 option.

For DVD writer gadget, i oftentimes use Wondershare Video to DVD Burner, that's quickly on burning. It oftentimes works fantastic for me. even however that's a shareware. BTW, i'm afraid 2 hr 34 min action picture to DVD Disc is purely too long. you could extra beneficial burn it to 2 DVD Discs.
