There are lots of things that can effect having you period besides the obvious of being pregnant:

- You weight can be a main factor...when I danced and ran crosscountry my period disappeared because of low weight, which is not healthy

- Diet...you are what you eat

- Iron levels

To be on the safe side I strongly suggest a visit to your doctor, it is something that needs to be checked out especially if you are pregnant or even if you are not. Also talk with someone close to you, your mother, an aunt etc....friends do not always give the best advice look for an adult you trust!

What do you mean by messing up with your birth control pills? If you mean that you haven't been taking the week of placebo pills, then you shouldn't have any problems. In fact, there's a certain brand of pill called Seasonale that is actually designed to only make you have your period 4 times a year.

On the other hand, if you mean that you "messed up" by missing a pill or two, then you need to take a pregnancy test right away. If you miss even one pill, there's a slim chance that you could get pregnant, and if you miss two or more pills in a row, then that chance goes way up.

There are many very normal reasons (other than pregnancy) why a woman might miss her period. Missing 4 periods in a row is cause for concern, though. You should talk to a physician.

If you're sexually active, there's a possibility you could be pregnant, but it's not definitive. I'm 27--started at 11-- and i've never had a "normal" period. For the past few years i too have been known to go anywhere from 1 to 4 months without one. For me, i think it's stress. But lots of things could be the culprit; weight loss or gain, diet, etc. Perhaps you should see a doctor or a gynecologist, just in case, though, to make sure it's nothing more serious.

First, are you sure you're not pregnant? If you've been not taking your pills properly you could have had an "accident". Use a home pregnancy test just to be sure. Otherwise, not taking your pills properly can have an effect on your system. Make sure you take your pills at the same time every day without fail or else you won't be adequately protected from pregnancy.
BTW, if you are pregnant, stop taking the pills immediately and see your doctor.

Well the biggest question is are you sexually active? obviously you could be pregnant if not, then if you are underweight that could affect your cycle also BUT YES! birth control can affect cycles they did mine on and off for a year and no it did not affect my chances of havving children i have a beautiful lil boy now!

Well if you're sexually active then there might be a chance that you're pregnant if not, just wait for your period to come you might be irregular so that means you don't get your period every month.

it shouldn't mess with you having children. And when you mess up on your birth control it causes you to start your period. So if i were you i would go to the OBGYN

That could be a hormonal change considering you have had your period since you were 10yrs old which is young. You should speak to a gynocologist or your doctor.

Make an appointment with your OB/GYN doctor. Only with tests and a doctor's thorough examination can your questions be answered. Take care.
