Hi I just got 2 new fish into my tank yesterday, i didn't know much about mollies and thought there were only such things as balloon mollies when i found out that i wanted a female and male balloon molly, but got a female b. molly and 1 male normal molly. (much skinnier)

Can they cross breed?? Coz they r both livebearers and mollies??

And how can i breed them, i asked the man at the fish store if i can get a breeding net in my 27L tank and he said my tank was too small for a breeding net.
Is that true???
I do have a spare dirty fish tank but can i still use that? or can i use those really small plastic tanks that are like 2 gallons to raise the fry, and i don't think if my mollies had fry i would keep too many coz i don't want a overcrowed tank. So can i like raise 3 fry mollies in there??
What size tank?

Oh! and i forgot to ask if someone can put up a link to a good photo of a pregnant Balloon molly? That would be really GREAT!!! Thank u!!! =]

Yes, your mollies can and will breed together, Mollies originally came from 3 different species, but have been so cross bred it's actually fairly rare to buy pure strain mollies in pet shops any more.

A 27 liter tank is a bit small for a breeding net, but in a pinch it could hang there.
Your best bet though is to use another tank to raise the babies. They will need a bit of space to grow. A 2 gallon is really too small for more than 2-3 babes and you will likely have 25 or so from a typical molly brood. So yes, clean up that dirty tank, get a sponge filter for it and quite a few plastic plants and when the female looks fairly plump (plumper than usual) put her in the tank. Watch closely for her to have the babies and return her to the main tank as soon as she does so that she won't eat the babies.

Breeding your fish can be loads of fun, but be prepared ahead of time so that you don't get caught off guard and it will be much more enjoyable.

Here's a page with some info about keeping and breeding mollies:

I couldn't find a good picture of a pregnant female balloon molly right off hand, sorry.

the 1st theory that have been given right here to my mind upon interpreting this post was once a million. WHY is college instructions value is usa ridiculously costly? WHY do colleges want lots money? a school should not be a employer like Apple or Microsoft. My sister will graduate from her 4 years of school quickly and the completed coast of instructions pee paid throughout the time of those 4 years....Is OMG too much. the quantity is very nearly as lots because of the fact the U.S. national debt. 2. Do colleges extremely want some extensive money? 3. usa is presently dealing with an economic situation; that's expected to be the particularly some worst ever in U.S. historic past. So unemployment is a transforming into subject, the economic equipment is getting spoiled and there are extra threat loose electorate suffering below the poverty line. and that i'm no longer against the federal government however the federal government does not seem to be sorting it out properly. i do no longer understand that lots with regard to the ecnonomy, so I found out from my sister (she's a industry / economics important) and that i would be waiting to tell that the country, the economic climate and so on are all dealing with a subject. Soo....i do no longer understand even nevertheless until eventually the federal government ensures to love help the adverse pay for instructions or something I strongly recommend that faculties do no longer boost instructions fees. in any different case...usa will face an excellent worse academic impediment. Does the stuff I typed make experience? wish it does. And......the recommendations-blowing information is that the costly coaching fee paid to a suitable college grew to become into as quickly as merely properly worth it because of the actuality my sister won a suitable job 2 weeks formerly than commencement.

this was the best one I could find.

Yes all mollies can breed with mollies of different types.

You don't have to do anything special to breed them, chances are your female was already pregnant when you brought her home. Breeding nets come in many sizes and shapes, just find one for a smaller tank. (guppie breeding nets are perfect.

You could use your old tank, however if she has been pregnant for more than two weeks you are pushing the cycling process. For the time being your two gallon will be fine for raising 3-4 fry, however expect a lot more than that. by the time your fry out grow the tank they will be ready to reenter the main tank.

Live bearing fish wonder me! Even though you do not have the same it's possible. How ever from 1 breeding your fish can have 3 different Set's of births! Yes thank god we are not like fish. So watch her even though she may not appear to be pregnant now she may be next week! Next time watch the anal fin area and make sure you see the males breeding tube and get a set. Some of the hybrids are bad about losing the unique change in the body and may look like a plain Mollie any way.Make sure you keep the Temp at 78%- pH-7.0 and 1 teaspoon of salt to each 5 gal. of water. You will have more mollies than you will know what to do with. Feed Wardley Total Tropical food, they will deepen in color and breed like crazy.

Yes you can but your tank is WAY TO SMALL you will need atleast a 20 gallon tank. Its not expensive, the entire set would cost around 60 bucks, or you can go with the fully equiped 30 gallon tank for 100 bucks.
