Here's the most common way:

1. Right click "My Computer"
2. Select Properties
3. Select the Hardware tab
4. Select Device Manager
5. Click the + button for Display Adapters
6. Right click the onboard video card you would like to disable, and hit... That's right, Disable!!

***I wouldn't suggest uninstalling it, because you never know when you will need it again.

Go into Computer Management (right click the My Computer icon and select Manage or go to Administrative Tools->Computer Management...both will work) and then go to Device Manager. Select Device Manager and expand the Display adapters. In there, you'll see your on board graphic device. You can then go into the properties for that and disable the device.

If you are installing the AGP version of the ATI Radeon 7000, the on board video should be disabled automatically if I remember correctly.

Your on board graphics card should be automatically replaced by the Radeon 7000 when you install it. You shouldn't have to do anything.... the system's bios is where you would turn off the on board graphics if you must. Happy gaming!
