This only happens in MSN Windows Live Messenger. All other applications work just fine. Whenever I press the question mark key on the keyboard, the letter É types out instead of the ?. Any ideas why this would be happening just in MSN Messenger? I can not find any settings to change this.

My best guess is that you're not using the standard regional settings for windows. I had a similar problem in iTunes due to the fact that I have Japanese on my system.

If you go to control panel (under Windows XP), and then "Regional and Language Options", you should see an advanced tab. Click it.

Make sure you specify English on the pulldown tab for non-Unicode programs, and check to apply the changes to the user account itself.

If it was indeed a region glitch, this should take care of the problem immediately.

Hope this helps!
