With a beak and with feathers and two hind limbs you definetely can identify a bird. But most of the adaptations a bird has are to fly. To fly it has feathers which are lightweight and nonwettable. Spindleshape body enables it to move through air. Beak not having teeth, bones with air cavities and lack of a urinary bladder reduce the body weight and these support to lift and thrust the animal. And there are some specific structures which a bird pocesses; preen or oil gland at the base of tail and syrinx(voice box) near junction of trachea and bronchi.

Probably the most famous would be Darwin's finches in the Galapagos Islands. Birds that originally had the same type of beak migrated to other islands in the same chain of islands. Different foods were available on these new islands. Over time, the birds with beaks best suited for feeding on this food survived to reproduce.

The birds feathers are the first one because how can a bird call itself different from a reptile. Its talons are very big as well because if they couldn't grab food they would die off and the stronger animal would surive. Thier sense, because how many times have you tried to look for a rabbit while flying in a plane.

Hollow bones, no jaw or teeth...just a beak to make the bird lightweight for flight. Keel bone in chest that allows for strong muscle attachment to make for better, stronger flight.
