Try Notepad if nothing else works. It's pretty cheapy and I only use it for HTML but it'll work in a pinch.

Word Pad is so straight forward and so forgiving that I don't see how it could not work. When you open it you get a blank page. Just type on that page, save it under a file name, and hit print.
If you don't have WORKS or WORD it is a good solution to writing letters. You should try again.

why wouldn't word pad work?...once you open it, there is a blank page, ready for you to type. If it is something really simple, just use notepad, is the same

Microsoft word or because you have to pay for that, try any free word processing software.

Do you have a printer?
If you don't, that is why it didn't print.
And if you DO have a printer, check that it's connected properly.
Wordpad should work, so I don't know what the problem is.
