My heart will go on......Celine's signature song.
I will Always love you...Whitney's signature song.
When you believe.......Mariah and Whitney.
I don't think it gets much better than this. These songs were all super popular, critically acclaimed and award winning, but more than that, the emotion that flows the songs are amazing. It really is hard for me to imagine "Titanic" or "The Bodyguard" without those songs.

It's not really the theme song but in the first movie of Ace Ventura when he goes to see the nerd guy in the club he has to go through a mosh pit and in the background Cannibal Corpse is rocking out with 'I Will Kill You' from the album 'The Bleeding' that came out in 1994.

Orenji no Taiyou by Hyde and Gackt (from Moon Child *squish*)
If you liked those, you should look at some of James Horner's other work, like Braveheart.
Other good soundtracks are
-PotC2: Dead Man's Chest (better than the first)
-All three Lord of the Rings (especially FotR)
-Spirited Away
-Princess Mononoke
-Cowboy Bebop (there are several)
-The Lion King (broadway)
Hope you try some!
