This is a rhetorical question.

I don't think everyone understands the question. I did not say "How much attention would the *massacre* be receiving had the gunman been a Caucasian American?" I'm asking how much attention would the citizens of the United States and Y!A-goers be giving the gunman had he been white and born in America.

haha. People will deny their bias to the day they die. I stopped watching the news because no matter what channel I turned to, they wouldn't stop headlining their reports with, "South Korean student......"

If he had been white, yes, the media still would have been in a frenzy, because it is such a terrible tragedy. But people in general, everyday people, like those on Answers, would not be asking the same questions, and voicing the same "concerns" they would have if the killer had been white. The Cultures and Groups section is proof. People asking about deporting the killer's family, people asking about whether "immigrants" should be able to own guns, people asking about why the "orientals" are this, and why so many "chinks" do that; it's disgusting.

Personally, I don't really think its out of any conscious racism, or anything like that. I think since white people are the majority, some white people would look at it like, "Oh, that could've have been my child." So they are a lot more sympathetic. Look at the Columbine shooting. Everyone can say how the kids were nuts, but no one will say how they were white nuts. That's because it was, and is, irrevelant. But that be the case all across the board. When someone does something like this, their race should be the last thing on anyone's mind.

Bottom line though: No. If the killer was white, mainstream America, that includes the lovely people of YA!, would not be discussing some of the "issues" that they are now.....

This just goes to show how america still has not
grown up. What does race have to do with people
being killed and slaughtered for no reason, as any
person could have done it. What is important here
is programs to prevent such actions in the future
and the government taking a stance to make
america safe again for americans. This is why I
moved overseas because america is in so much
trouble internally that it's not safe to be there any-
more. I am an american and I see what is going
on and so do thousands more that are living
abroad.

i'm a Caucasian American lady with a activity in African American adult adult males. in spite of this I date anybody that pastimes me, shade would not worry me. very almost each race has something cool and unique to grant. What i detect alluring approximately black adult adult males is they are in many situations massive. Get your strategies out the gutter, I propose tall and geared up. this could be a stereotype yet this is how each of those I meet are. They make me experience tiny and guarded. Plus they have warm butts.... yet this is basically my opinion. Like I stated, each race has something distinctive to grant.

Not as much as if he was of middle east descent.

Most of the mass / serial murderers are white guys, so it really wouldn't be unusual. In this case with an Asian, it is a little unusual for people from his culture to commit these crimes in America. It would not be unusual for them to commit this crimes in their country.

it would've been the same situation. same deal. same story.
race is soooo not important in a situation like this. it's what happened that matters. race is nothing compared to what was done.
