If the man isn't making any effort towards the relationship, then he's probably miserable.
If he goes out with the guys a lot. Volunteers to work all the overtime he can. Isn't too interested in you or anything about you. Won't talk a whole lot, or argues a lot. Falls asleep on the couch quiet often.
If you're having to ask this question, then you probably already know whether or not he is.

Oh, I don't know, maybe if he walks around mumbling to himself "man am I miserable." I'd say that is a pretty good sign.

If you don't know then there obviously is NO communication in the marriage and without communication in the marriage the marriage is bound to fail anyway.

If he is quiet, sullen, withdrawn, seems resentful, if there is no intimacy, he keeps things from you, if he "jokes" about leaving, if he seems hateful, any number of signs.

If he's quiet, doesn't talk much. Also if he gets angry easily can be a sign sometimes.

if he doesnt want to have sex , if he is withdrawn from you and doesnt talk to you that much , if he is gone alot etc.
