In all ancient and even modern times "rise in the East" refers to the sun, God, and life, for it is the Eastern Sky of ancient times that brought forth the rising sun which in turn gives the Earth life from Spring, to summer, fall then into winter to repeat the cycle again and again, bringing forth life, and as the worship of the sun faded into the worship of gods, and the ONE GOD, the rising of the sun signifies the Life of Light, the One of all creation, to include but not limited the eternal turning and rising of the sun, bringing forth Life from the soil of the ground to the Souls of the Creator's creations. All of which face the East in prayer and gratitude for the coming day.
