Usually every shirt I buy is 100% cotton. I usually wear a Large but whenever i get a Large its shrinks too much but when i get an XL it doesnt shrink enough and makes it smaller length wise but not in width (making it look retarted).

Wash it in cold water and hang to dry.

If you forget and put it in the dryer and it shrinks you can try washing the shirt and then hanging the it on a hanger and pulling it straight down and streching it some and leave it air dry like that.

Some people do not like air drying clothes because it makes them stiff. I make sure to rinse all the detergent out of them (this sometimes requires putting them threw a wash cycle again with no detergent) and use a high quality liquid fabric softener in the rinse cycle and my clothes are soft and clean.

Cotton shrinks while it is washed in warm water. Use heat water and a heat dryer and it won't shrink adequate to word. in the adventure that your the right age and your mom should help, initiate doing all your own laundry. mom might desire to be to busy putting apart and washing issues one by one.

Don't put it in the dryer. Or only put it in for 15 minutes
on Perm Press. It's the dryer that usually shrinks clothes.
I've noticed they shrink up, not across, also.

It's not just the 100% cotton, you have to know if they are made from preshrunk cotton. The packages sometimes say. Speciality tshirts....those screen printed.......often are rather specific saying they are preshrunk.

So start reading labels. For example some of the Hanes tshirts specifically say they are made from preshrunk fabric, others don't. In all cases they say to wash in cold water......

Try washing shirts in cold water. Do not put it in the dryer. Air dry it. Then iron it.
