1. Kareem
2. Magic (but it's real close!)
3. Wilt
4. West
5. Worthy
6. Shaq
Honorable mention goes to Mychal Thompson, who signed with the Lakers in February of 1987. This switched the balance of power back from the Celtics to the Lakers for the rest of the decade.... the Lakers defeated the Celtics in the finals that year, and went on to win it again in 1988, and lost in the finals to Detroit in 1989.
In fact, Thompson's first game as a Laker was against the Celtics at the forum in a nationally televised game on February 15, 1987. He played a good game (10 points), but Magic stole the show with 39 points.
In that game, Kareem's "double figure scoring" streak was in trouble; he'd scored in double figures for over 700 consecutive games to that point, but had scored only six points with less than a minute to go. He converted a basket with about 50 seconds left, and then hit two free throws with less than 20 seconds remaining to keep his streak intact. The Lakers won that game, 106-103. Kareem's streak would end the following season at 787 games, a record since broken by Michael Jordan.
Gian, you know your hoops, I like your answers, but it's incorrect to say Kareem never won anything until Magic came along... Kareem won a title in 1971 and was MVP of the regular season and playoffs that year. Yeah, he had Oscar, but Robertson was really well past his prime by 1971. Kareem carried that Bucks team.
And while it's true that Kareem never won a title with the Lakers until Magic joined the team, it's also true that Magic never won a title after Kareem retired. I think it's a fair thing to say that they both needed each other during an extremely competitive period in NBA history.

Magic Johnson hands down he was"Showtime"! Kareem never won anything until Johnson came along. worthy was a good role player. Shaq is second - he is awesome but ugly. Kobe is third - dominating in a league of wimps. Dominating but not leading. Johnson was far from selfish - but would be uncontested in a drive or 10 ft pull-up. He was as good as the best Harlem Globetrotter in passing. He rebounded...and by the look of his smile....the best play maker ever! I've worked court-side for the Bulls 16 years. I never watched the Stilt but he played in a league of 8-10 teams not 30.

I am a Boston Celtic fan, and the only Laker I really like and respect is Jerry West. (Well, I also like Elgin Baylor, but not that much. ) Even the Celtics players in the sixties have a lot of respect for West. He's just a classy guy.
