America was never intended to have parties, it was something that our founding fathers were against. So yes I think we should get rid of them. Sadly, though, it is a human flaw to categorize.

I think if the original system was put back in place, where the person with the most votes became president and the person with the second most votes became vice president, that would solve alot of problems.
If that were done and the electoral college were no longer allowed to decide the president, and our votes actually counted again, we could elect leaders that weren't already a part of the political parties, possibly leaders that weren't already corrupted by the people whose butts they had to kiss to get there.
BTW, our votes don't currently count, even if the party system were done away with there would still be politics as usual because our presidents are actually elected by the "electoral college" and they ignore the actual vote of the people.
If you believe your vote counts, I feel sorry for you, but check out wikipedia's article on it. When you vote for president, no one listens, when the electoral college votes, the president is elected.
So in direct answer to your main question, yes America needs a political overhaul. I'm with you.

The gadget of three separate and equivalent branches has it reward different than while there is dispute over the cheap because of the fact it ends up in a central authority close down. different than that it incredibly works completely yet there is the partisan that gets in way of compromise. some issues to alter may be: a million. Electoral college 2. end Gerrymandering 3. Overturn voters United 4. substitute the electoral gadget from first previous the placed up.

I agree.
However, I think the biggest problem is the career politician, regardless of party affiliation. We should impose a six-year limit on every elected position. That way, no one would go into politics thinking they were going to get fat and grow old on the taxpayers' dime.

Hugo Chavez would like to see that. He may even immigrate illegally into the U.S.A.
