you've got to make sure she is responsible to keep on shaving her legs, becuase when you start you have to keep on going otherwise the hair isn't really thicker, it just stands up straighter and is more noticable in my opionion. If shes not worried about it then i would not make her start. Ask some of her friends mums too, becuase when her friends start, she will probably want to then too.
some kids couldn't be bothered, so just let her do it when she's ready. I think 13 is a good year, or whenever the kid wants to as long as their not like 8!

My mom first asked me if I wanted to start to shave my legs at the end of 5th grade, and before that I REALLY wanted to, but for some reason, I didn't want to then. So I started when I turned 12.
Anywhere during 6-7 grade.
I have never heard of that "tale" though.
I don't think you should let your daughter wax though untill she is 16. It's expensive I think and they really are just young and don't need to worry so much about that.

It's an old wives' tale. Most of my friends let their daughters start shaving their legs at 12 years old.
BTW, I recommend Schick Quattro to avoid nicks & cuts but get a really smooth shave with Aveeno Sensitive Skin Shave Gel.

I started shaving my legs when I was young, I'd say if theres hair on her legs and it bothers her, let her do it. Whats the big deal? Your hair is going to grow back dark and thick either way. If shes young, I would suggest using something like NAIR for a couple years just because shaving can cause serious scars if you arnt careful. Good luck getting outta this "hairy" situation

It's not true. Let them shave when it's most comfortable for them. It's not a big deal really.
The myth is that hair grows back thicker when you shave it but that's false too--hair is cut at such an angle that it looks thicker but it doesn't change the hair texture.. that would be impossible.

i dont think thats true. i started shaving when i was 11 and a half, and i got my period 2 years later. i dont think it realu matters if the hair grows back thicker because she will be shaving anyways so it wont really matter. i would let her shave when she is in 6th grade.
