there are sometimes wanna-be Wiccans who are attracted by a movie or something, but they are dabblers who get tired and move on.
Most Wiccans are adults who form their spirituality without regard to any Hollywood or other pop music phenomenon.
Harry Potter is about the magic of storytelling, not about anything else.

Wicca draws from the Old Traditions of Witchcraft. While this is true, I would simply like to clarify up front that Witchcraft and Wicca, while similar in many respects, are not the same. One can be a Witch, without being a Wiccan, just as a person can be a Christian, without being a Baptist. Futhermore, Wicca is a recognized religion, while Witchcraft itself is not considered a religion. Thus, Wicca might best be described as a modern religion, based on ancient Witchcraft traditions.
Hope that helps.
Blessed Be.

I was already a Witch, before Harry Potter had been released, so no.
Wicca is a religion that uses WitchCraft, but Harry Potter is not WitchCraft.
Just waving a stick and saying a word in Latin, doesn't mean magic is going to happen.

Harry Potter is sorcery, not Wicca. Not the same. Wicca is a form of witchcraft, that's why practicing Wiccans refer to themselves as witches.

The "witchcraft" in Harry Potter and the Wiccan religion are two completely different things. So you might want to re-think your debate topic.
