Like some of the other people above I think the question could have been a little clearer. However if you a looking for a show bike here are a few suggestions but you may need a second mortgage. Other contributors, feel free to comment on my tastes. Harley Davidson JE, Vincent Black Shadow, Norton Commando, Ducati 900ss ('72), Hesketh Vampire, Bimota Tesi, MV Augusta F4, Kawazaki Z1 ('73). Actually the list is almost endless. Find something you like, buy it, ride it and enjoy.

I don't usually plug groups (never have before), but there's a yahoo group called "Building_Choppers." It's not just a group for Harley or Chopper riders, it's a group that gives great advice about having and maintaining unique show bikes as well. (There's even photos of hot rods!) It's also non-club related. So it sounds like a good group for you to check out. As far as a bike you can ride once a month, I'd say a BMW would give you the least maintenance hassles. Harleys like to be ridden a lot. (Just my opinion). But of course, Harley's look better. (Again, my opinion). I like the new Norton's that are out there. My simple advice is... Find the bike you like, and go with it... In any case, good luck to you!

I think! he is asking ' I normally drive a car, what would make a nice showy bike I can ride once a month... I don't want to have to join a MC club.'
That depends on your budget and tastes.
Did you want a Harley type of cruiser bike?
Or a top of the range sports bike, ducati or the like.
Re roll the question and phrase it better. )

First of all, not all patch motorcycle clubs are outlaw motorcycle clubs!
Second of all, if you are only going to shine it, buy yourself a custom from one of the custom shops, spend at least $500,000.00 then you can brag about what it cost you to get it, and it will look great sitting in your driveway or on the trailer!
Above all if you only want to ride once a month stay off the road, you will get someone killed.

I think you should buy the bike. But why ride it? If you don't ,then you don't have to worry about dry cleaning those pesky bug stains or associating with the "rabble". Better yet, just get a life size picture of a bike and pose in front of it while you look at yourself in the mirror.

That's OK pal- we don't care much for your type either.
Don't buy a bike, there are enough wannabes already. Just stay on the porch, the [real] motorcycle community really doesn't want you.
If you really want a bike though, it sounds like maybe a Schwinn would be your speed.

Yeah!! what William and Ellwood said!! MC's ride, not open showrooms so, you are not for us either. For the love of God, please take the MITT course and limit yourself to your neighborhood block IF you intend to ride it. If you're only gonna ride it once a month, who freakin' cares what you buy, just get yourself something real pretty 'cause you obviously "just don't get it".
