How often do you smile at a stranger on the street?

Do they look at your like you are insane or do they smile back?

I usually get a smile back-- but not always.

i used too until a girl thought i was flirting w/ her (she was bi I'm straight) that creeped me out enough but i no the looks ur talking about i don't know why people give us those like we don't have the right to be friendly or s/thin' maybe they don't know they do..just keep smiling NE ways(2 guys -lol-)
i don't smile at preps NE more bc they're the ones who give the evil I'm going to stab u looks(I'm obviously not a prep but to be honest the closest i come to being in a group is ''punk'' but people call me ''emo'' a lot[i h8 it] )people should smile back but don't let that stop u :)

I usually smile at a stranger every day 'cause I'm an Italian boy and I live in Western Australia. They smile back.

I only smile to strangers on the street in my neighborhood because I live a small, quiet area. So I smile almost every time and say "Hello"...and 9 times out of 10, they smile and say "Hello" back.

In the city though...I don't even make eye contact!!!

Sometimes they smile back and some of the old people just plain ignore me. I always think to myself "Thats the last time I smile at them." lol

All the time, some smile back and some stop and talk. I've made several friends this way. (remember I'm old, so don't you young people talk to strangers!)

All the time, especially if they make eye contact. i would say about 1/2 smile back, some turn away, and some just stare, so I stare back.
