It's just a trite thing that people say. I'm sure he's used it before and will use it again, but it's a worthless thing to say.

that it had nothing to do with WHO the students were just that, they indeed were in the wrong place at the wrong time. the gunman went for place A and those in it - not students abcd, etc. the event itself is sad and tragic, bushes comments made perfect sense.

It makes me ask the question: How did the young gunman get the weapon and the bullets to commit his heinous act?

P.S. Are we talking about the tragic shooting or Bush or both?

I heard that the dude who shot all those people was on medacation for depresion. Did you hear about the one teacher who died because he was holding the door shut, while the students were jumping out the window! That's what really made me sad.

As dumb as it sounds, the absolute shock of the tragedy can find no comfort with words right now.
His speech writer would probably have had a writer's block.
The best anyone can do is extend sympathy, respect, and condolences.
What could he have said?
I have no idea.

Get A Grip.

It is true they were at a wrong plaace at the wrong time but the reason he did it is he killed his ex girlfriend first and and after that he wanted to kill himself but he wanted to take as many people as he could and some people are just like that!!!!!!!!!!!!

It means that Bush (I'm no fan, BTW) and/or his speech-writers were attempting to find words to express at a time ofd sorrow.

He's done worse. I'm not about to critique his choice of words -- what does one say in his shoes?

Bush just says what someone else writes for him.

Well, I kinda think they were at the wrong place at the wrong time don't you? I'm glad I wasn't there. Well, unless I had my gun too, then that douche bag would've been in deep ****!
