"Why does everything have to relate back to politics?"
Because, POLITICS IS WHAT GUARANTEED THAT VIRGINIA TECH STUDENTS WOULD BE EASY TARGETS.
In January of 2006, a bill failed to pass in the Virginia legislature that would have allowed responsible, trained adults to carry guns for protection on college campuses.
Larry Hinker, A SPOKESMAN FOR VIRGINIA TECH, praised the bill's death, saying it would "make parents, students, faculty and guests feel safer."
I hope that dumb@ss never has another good night's sleep, because what happened yesterday is DEFINITIVE PROOF that "feeling safer" is worthless compared to "being safer."
If YOU were in a classroom at VT, and the shooter was trying to get in, wouldn't you hope SOMEBODY with you had a gun?

I am sure that schools are safer when people aren't carrying weapons onto campuses. No one can plan for everything and who would think any one would want to shoot up a school or university? I don't want to go to school where just anyone that can fill out a card can carry a gun. I don't want to work next to anyone carrying a gun (unless its a cop). The only real problem with gun control is only the law-abiding people are effected. We need to do something about the illegal weapons on the streets! We need to enforce death penalties more effectively so that they are the deterrent they are meant to be. We need to hold people accountable for their actions instead of worrying about what race they are or where they came from. We need to stop all the crap about libs vs conservs and take action to prevent this from ever happening again! The only person that can be blamed for the death of all the students at VT is the jerk behind the gun! Quit looking for someone alive to blame and come up with a workable solution!

Most colleges don't have armed gaurds. That's a good thing. Many people don't want to live in a society paranoid by the VERY unlikely possibility of a mass shooting. By the way, what's more dangerous than 1 psycho with a gun? A frat house with guns!!!

So, to reduce the incidence of school shootings, we should have a lot more guns in the schools??? How many of these shooters were students when they snapped? The overwhelming majority. What do these students use when they snap? Guns.

That's absurd. A university is like a public street in the sense that people come and go in high numbers and exercise their freedom to do so. You cannot legislate for a random act of craziness: you can never convince me or any right-thinking person that permitting the public to carry firearms will ever stamp out these kinds of acts - it will only escalate the odds of this kind of thing happening more frequently.

You're spot on, mate. The blood of the victims is on his hands
Here in Australia the gun control has not produced any positive benefit for the public. We cannot defend ourselves and as a result criminal acts have soared.
In Virginia, only the shooter was armed, and he knew his victims were not.
One teacher only, or a single student with a gun could have prevented the massacre ...
Who really wants to disarm the law-abiding citizens?
Think ... This is not a case of liberal or conservative. It is not a political case at all.
In fact, it is a case of control over the population by neo-cons, who cannot give a stuff about political party or ideology; all they want is power.

A Liberal test? interestingly you probably did no longer examine the object, Liberals theory it grow to be condescending. "Conservative critics asked whether it grow to be clever to pay human beings for uncomplicated habit like going to discern-instructor conferences or physician’s appointments; some liberals seen the mindset condescending. The mayor, a believer in incentives in business corporation and government, grow to be desperate to purpose it, yet he prevented making use of public money initially. "

He "hoped" it wouldn't happen.
People "hope" everyday that they win the lottery.
The President should not be charged with criminal neglect.
He SHOULD however resign, in disgrace, for the failure to adequately protect the student population. By not giving the tools to the security guards, he PURPOSELY put the students at risk. These libs in the media and the school systems are RUINING America.
Thank GOD my parents sent me to a Christian School.
God Bless America.
