Well despite the fact they have the same number of pins, they use completely different sockets that are not compatible with each other. Unfortunately the answer is a definite no it would not work.

You will need to find the specifications documentation for that laptop and look this up in there. Most laptop CPUs are not easily upgradeable, if they are at all. That's the one disadvantage to a laptop: you can't upgrade 70% of the stuff inside it.

On a side note, 1.86 GHz is PLENTY fast--ignore people who tell you otherwise (I've used the same 500 MHz laptop for seven years now!) Just don't run Norton, McAfee, and/or Windows Vista on it, and it should run fairly well. Don't forget to defrag once a month, too.

1.86ghz isnt soo great for a laptop and if u switched the processor u might even fry some of ur parts by accident so i think u have a better chance just getting a new laptop or just keeping this 1

i.86 ghz is a very good speed for a laptop, it is rard to find any much faster, dont listen to smart mouths who try to say different, normally you cant replace laptop cpus unfortunately but yours is plenty good for a good while yet

If the pin configuration is the same, and your BIOS can handle it, it should work.
