It's common for women to get the "baby rabies." There is a cure though:
Just think about all the responsibility that comes with having a baby. And episiotomies.

I am 59 years old with four children. The only babies I am interested in are grand babies. I can spoil them and give them back to mom or day when they start smelling ripe.
You want one so bad because it is programmed into your genes. It is an almost impossible urge to resist, it comes with being human. If you can resist, it will grow stronger until you are 55 + then it may subside. But, don't bet anything on that.

How old are you? I always wanted a baby, but I didn't have my daughter until I was 33 yrs. And believe me, I wouldn't change anything. But if you're young, wait til your older, live for you for a while. You don't want the feeling of being tied to a baby. You need to learn you before you include someone else in.
I'll stop lecturing now, please don't rate me bad on this answer, this is the way I feel.

Are we playing guessing games? I know my reasons, I want one but a baby doesn't stay a baby forever. The child grows and as it grows things like school, and all the rest comes. In my case I am a mother my child will be 18 yrs old soon. And though I may desire to have another I won't.

There actually is a condition that you can get when pregnant that makes you crave really weird stuff that is bad for you like soap, dirt, etc. You need to talk to your OB about it. I seem to rember reading it has something to do with a mineral or vitamin deficiency. If you need something textured like that try licking powdered sugar its gotta be bettter than baby powder.

Because you don't have one.. once you have one, you would certainly realize that they grow up, get attitudes, and .. no matter how good of a parent you are.. tell you that you "just don't care" about them.
Then, while you sit and stare at the computer working on the degree that you never got to finish because you got pregnant and after working so hard all day trying to make a living, he comes in and says he is sorry he said such a horrible thing. Takes a deep breath in and says.. can I go to bed? I'm bored.
It's all roses until they get older.. then you have years until you see eye to eye again. lol

Well hopefully, You're old enough to want one...it breaks my heart when youngsters are hungry for babies...but yes, I have heard the term, "baby hungry" and I think it has to do with our body's need to procreate.
Natures way...
