How can I get My computer to stop Rollingback Software or Programs?

My computer is an Emachines Computer. Ever since I bought it fresh out of Best Buy's shelf....Ive tried to install several softwares and programs. Like "Acid-Pro" and "Quicktime". I really need Quicktime for my new Ipod and it always rollback when trying to install!!!!!!!!
I hate it
can anyone help me with this Problem?????
