its for my science physics final and i cant come up with anything that works for the past 2 months! the rules are you cant use propellers, fire, water, electricity or air. and it has to be able to stop at a certain distance ....

You need kinetic energy which is potential energy. The first thing that comes to mind is a spring or a winding mechanism similar to a wind up clock. A spring driving a simple gear going into a differential should drive a small car.
Think of other forms of kinetic energy
