no moped goes neither 80 mph or 80 kmh (which would be just shy of 50 mph). no moped can exceed 25 mph. it would be suicide to attempt to go on any road where traffic exceeds 45 mph. it would be also suicidal not to stay on the right side....or cars will flatten u before they'd hit the brakes.

Barring any city ordinances, you CAN drive on rural highways. The only roads that you can't drive on are the highways marked "minimum speed 45mph". These highways usually also are clearly marked "no mopeds, scooters, or horses." If there is no minimum speed, you're fine. In New Hampshire you are allowed FOUR FEET to the right side of the lane. You can go 25mph or any speed you want. Some car drivers behind you will get road rage. They need to get a grip. Some will try to force you off of the road. If the police see them do this, they will be ticketed and perhaps arrested. Slow moving vehicles have every right to be in the road. You need to stay to the right, but you can signal and go to the left side of the lane to make a left turn.

There is a lot of ignorance concerning mopeds among car drivers. There is a lot of misinformation on Yahoo Answers. Many people expect you need to ride it on the sidewalk. This is incorrect and would be dangerous and illegal. Many people will tell you that you can only drive it on side streets. This is incorrect.

If you have any doubts about the legality of driving your moped, simply call the Department of Motor Vehicles in your area.

The answer will vary from state to state.

In my state, California, I think you're too young. You'd need a class M2 drivers' license for a moped, and I don't think you can get that 'til you're 15-and-a-half.

Your moped must be equipped with reflectors, head and brake lights, and turn signals. Your head must be equipped with a motorcycle helmet.

You can ride in the right-hand lane of any street, and move to the left lane to make a left turn.

You may not take your moped onto a freeway, nor onto a highway that is clearly marked "motor driven cycles prohibited" or "motorized bicycles prohibited."

You can drive on main roads, where you can keep up with the traffic, so to speak. You couldn't go on the freeway, you would be too slow. Some states have laws regarding insurance on mopeds, some don't require it.

BEFORE you get on a moped you should familiarise yourself with the rules of the road not afterwards.

YOU CAN RIDE A MOPED ON THE STREETS BUT SINCE IT ONLY GOES 45 MPH YOU CANNOT RIDE THEM ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS OR ROADS OUTSIDE OF TOWN.

Depends on the rules where you live.
Here you need a license.
If you passed the test, you know the rest.

Depends on the state of course, but most states treat them the same as bicycles.
