Yep, most definitely. Maybe if the marriage contract had an expiration date both parties wouldnt end up taking each other for granted. Maybe if there was an expiration date there would be less divorce because you would always want to please the woman/man you love for fear, he/she wouldnt renew it. Its like the dating game....you are trying to snare your partner and do all the correct things to make each other happy. It seems, however, when you sign that dotted line, you no longer are a person but a possession....so I say a big yes to an expiry date on a marriage licence.

If you look, Marriage licenses DO have an expiration date on them. It's the date you have to have gotten married by, or the license is no good. What I'd guess you probably mean is wouldn't it be great if marriages had a term to them after which the marriage is over (say 5, 10 years etc.). To that I say no. Marriage is not a trial, or just a business contract. Your first wife IS NOT your practice or trial wife. Marriage is supposed to be for ever. It is not meant to be a temporary thing. If you can't live up to this, don't get married. You're not ready.

A marriage license is like an application, it just means you meet certain requirements, and can get married. If not used within the 30 or 60 days, the license does expire, and then you have to re-apply for one.

The marriage certificate is the paper that says you're married. This doesn't have an expiration date, nor should it.
When people marry, aren't they marrying for life, so why should the marriage certificate have an expiration date !!

The actual license does have an expiration date. It is usually one month from the date of issue.

Marriage licenses DO have an expiration date. You must get married within 30 days of getting your license or else you have to re-apply.

Kinda like a guaranteed,hassle-free divorce? That's kinda said to think that way.If they had an expiration date, what would be the point of getting married at all? It's supposed to be for life, etc.

why get married in the first place?
i mean its not like it really means that you love the person more it just a big day with a huge whole in your pocket along with people you haven't met before then the whole signing away half you belonging to a person your not even sure your going to stay with for the rest of your life.On top of that you got the pressure of starting a family from every one.

This was a very funny question. You've made my day. Some people on here need to loosen up just a tad bit.
