We are close to the point of being able to buy milk, meat and other products made from cloned animals. What is everyone's thoughts on that?

I can't imagine why anyone would care. We eat so much worse than that. A cloned animal is infinitely safer tahn the tons and tons of pesticides no one talks about, and no one talks about the antibiotics in the animal feed which are making scores of new antibiotic resistant bacteria emerge. These are real problems. But mention something that people don't understand like cloning which sounds sci-fi to most people, and they freak out.

So irrational to care so much about cloning.

It makes no difference at all to me as long as the animals are not made in such a way that causes suffering. That seems unlikely as it would increase the cost of doing business. Happy cows are better milk producers.

Yummy. I find it unlikely that a somatic cell cloning event would change what's actually if the meat/product of an adult animal.

Well at first, religious people are probably offended by the fact technology had rose to a new level. I think it's awesome that we can duplicate our own food supply which will minimize the killings in the slaughter house and preserve that actual food supply we have. Maybe when you finish your meat, you'd probably want to eat the same one =) "Yeah, I like this meat, I want another one just like it!"

It really is ridiculous to fear this. Do you think that the cloned animals would taste different or harm you in some way? Clone.....exactly the same, genetically identical. No harm there.....benefit far outweighs drawback.
