in the fifties it is false that there was little racial discrimination. In fact they discriminated about everything Gays, race,religion, etc

The racial discrimination was very nasty well into the 1960's (and it's still around). Where I grew up, (upstate N.Y.) people saw color not as a racial issue; anyone could sit anywhere on the bus, eat in any restaurant/diner and you were hired for a job if you had the experience, education, or the smarts. I never did understand why there was discrimination; I still don't.

the pop. grew quickly due to all the men coming back from war...the baby boom.

b sounds right, but im not sure.

c yes!! great advances in space.

d very very wrong. these times were defined by a constant battle for equality. towards the late 60s is when it cooled down a little, but it was still very dominant.

BTW, in (b), the U.S. was/is not a state, it was/is a country. ;)
