Couldn't that have stopped this massacre in a few seconds?

Yes, they should have been allowed to carry them, if they wanted to. We must now start to take on the responsibility for our own protection. We can not rely upon the Police to be by our side, and protect us, every minute.

Concealed carry certainly would've increased the chances that someone might have been in a position to stop him. All it takes is proper training and the nerve to close the deal if the time should ever come. I haven't read anywhere yet that he lined anyone up. And if he did, it's possible they didn't know he was going to kill them. On United 93, those passengers came to learn of the fates of other hijacked aircraft, so they had a pretty good idea their flight was doomed too. That may not have been the case in Blacksburg, Va.

Yes I am afraid so. The ONLY way we are going to stop this madness is to allow citizens to defend themselves. As it is once a bad guy arms himself it is too late.

We have always been told call the cops and let the cops handle it. But there have always been places the cops can't get to in time.........Rural areas such as where i live.......High schools.......cafeterias (Luby.s in TX),,,,,and airplanes. Concealed carry is legal in most states but many areas are off limits. That is madness.

Why do you think these nut cases pick schools for their rampages? They know they will meet no armed resistance. And why do you think they NEVER attack Police Stations, Gun Shows and Military Bases? Go figure it out.

From what I understand, if you have a concealed weapons permit, it is unlawful to carry one on you when your in a large public setting .

This wacko thought it was cool to have one in his possession. He was a ticking time bomb if you ask me.

Our university's and schools across the nation should think about investing in better security systems and keep a watchful eye on everyone because no one is safe, from these wackos that go bizerk...

Or made it worse...today my father...a retired Army officer made a good point...even today our soldiers who are well trained on their weapons are still victims of friendly fire....you expect some kids with 8 hours of training to act responsibly and with a cool head in that situation?

Especially when there is chaos and people don't know where the firing is comming from I see alot of people killing each other inadvertantly...and what about the people too afraid to shoot....firing a weapon is a humbling experiance...not everyone can do it.

Yes if everyone was carrying a gun in would have been over in a few minutes.

But it would be a scary world.

Handgun laws are pretty lenient in VA anyway but I still dont think adding more weapons to the campus will solve anything. Security guards and body guards only.

No and No. Security needs to be beefed up with scanning machines at entry ways and more guards. Sounds ugly, but better than people getting killed.

No, i don't. But i also blame the security guards because don't they have to check very one that enters the school because he couldn't have gotten the gun in school.

No way!!! There should be xray machines / metal detectors though to stop "wasted air breathers" bringing guns to schools.
