Ok , I forgot all about prime factorization. Please teach me how to do this problem and everything you know about it.

What is the prime factorization of 144?

the answers r here: (which one is it?)
A) 2^2 times 3^4
B) 2^5 times 3^2
C) 2^2 times 7
D) 2^4 times 3^2

Because..
2 ^ 4 = 16 and
3 ^ 2 = 9.
And if you multiply them,
16 ( 9 ) .. the answer is 144.

Just use a calculator.

The first few prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11...When you want to find the prime factorization of a number, you want the product of only prime numbers. Since 144 is even you start with 2. 144 divided by 2 = 72.....72 divided by 2 = 36......36 divided by 2 = 18.....18 divided by 2 = 9. 9 is not an even number so you go to the next prime number which is 3. 3 x 3 = 9. Count the 2s. There are 4 so it's 2^4 x 3^2. Answer is D.

prime factorization of 144=

144=2x2x2x2x3x3 = 2^4 x 3^2 D

2x2x3x3x3x3=324(4x81)
2x2x2x2x2x3x3=32 x9=288
2x2x7=28

Prime Factorization:
Prime: A number that can only be divided by one and itself.
Start with the Given Number: 144
Take it By Something it is Equal to such as: 72*2
2 is already prime, so leave it, but 72 is not.
72 Can Equal 36*2
So so far we have 36*2*2
Now for 36: 6*6=36
So Now we have 6*6*2*2
Now we have to divide the 6's
6=2*3... and we have to of them
Now we have 2*2*2*2*3*3
And if we combine them we have
2^4 time 3^2
Letter D!
