All forms of Affirmative Actions discriminate against Whites. They also tell minorities that they cannot succeed on their own and must be helped by the government.

University seats should go to the most qualified, the same thing goes for jobs. A black should not be hired over a more qualified Asian because there are no blacks in the office.

I am unsure, in my opinion it is unfair if people gain a position over someone else due to race, whether they are black or white. Example, it should be based on qualifications and how well of an asset they would be to the business nothing else. So if a minority gains a position because of the ethnicity that would bother me, but it would not bother me if they are good for the job, and qualified. Same goes vice versa, I would not want to see a white get hired over a minority if the minority is equally qualified. So it is hard to say whether these programs are effective and fair.

To see if such programs have been effective, I'd have to take a look at all of the statistics that correspond with the implementation and maintenance of the programs, over time. I would venture to say that while some progress has been made, much of it has been as much through social change as through legislation. The fact that prejudice still exists (even in the work world) is indicative of the fact that the programs have yet to be entirely successful in their aims. (I'd even go so far as to say that I doubt that they ever would be so, simply because of the fact that you can never force one person to act decently towards another.)

I would have to state that without a doubt, such programs are unfair. Any program which seeks to give advantage or preference to one group of individuals over another is inherently discriminatory. In the end, such programs (as with many government-run social welfare programs) lead people to the false and disappointing belief that they are entitled to happiness rather than the pursuit thereof.

No, because employees and schools get money from the government for hiring/enrolling minorities. It is not fair to someone who is way more qualified to lose what could possibly be the opportunity of their lifetime just because they're up against a minority.

I am a shameless, but, harmless flirt...If I feel I've made someone feel badly....I step backwards and go the other direction. I have never intended to make anyone think I'm jumping in their territory, and ppl who know me realize this.... WITH THAT BEING SAID: I 'over flirt' with someone at times, but, he is really, really special...

Equal OPPORTUNITY is always fair. Any program named EQUAL anything is neither equal nor fair.
