Two points: use the term "sqrt" for square-root, and put ( ) around your denominator.

I assume your denominator is 2-sqrt(3).

So multiply the numerator (1) and the denominator by 2+sqrt(3). Why? Because somewhere in your tortured youth someone told you that a-b times a+b is a^2 - b^2, which is the crux of the whole deal.
Doing this, we have in the numerator 2+sqrt(3). Cool. Does the denominator =1? If so, we're cool. Do the multiplication, we get 4 - 3, which just happens to be 1. FANTASTICAL.
