I was in high school during Columbine and I remember after that we had police patrolling our school constantly. News specials about detecting kids with guns, violent behavior, whether or not we should have metal detectors at entrances. My friend even joked she had a bomb in her bag and then was arrested by the police. Then a couple months after columbine the artsy students (Weirdos) in my grade made a list of all the students and whether they were cool or not and gave the most popular people D, C and Fs. (I got a C) Rumor got out that it was a hit list and all the students who were rated C's or less were going to get murdered. The weirdo art people had to make a public apology to the whole school. What kind of paranoia's and fear will the media and our society go on with now after this shooting? Predictions welcome!

Do you mean Virginia Tech Massacre?any public shooting---post office, business, school, is bound to raise the level of fear/paranoia- this latest may, depending on the area, folks involved--send the levels way up. Referring to any group as "wierdos" sends up a flag perhaps YOU have issues---plus---you have a friend who thought it funny to joke about a bomb" I'd pick different friends.

You will see a spate of feel good gun laws, that will do actually nothing about the problem.
