why does my lighter not work on 04 grand prix?

Blown fuse or the lighter is bad. You can get a replacement lighter at any parts store.

Are you sure it doesn't work? My '04 came with one and its got this cap thingy on it that I can't get off. So I just don't use it.

If it just doesn't work you can buy new ones pretty cheap at like Canadian Tire.
