What do you think?

And... In light of the Virginia Tech massacare, I pondered what would happen if I were there. I am a gun owner, and I do not always carry them on me but if I was and I shot and killed the shooter durring his rampage. Would I deserve to be brought up on murder charges or would I be labeled a hero?

I ask myself questions similar to this. Maybe if I had a gun hidden in my bag just in case or whatever... Problem is the way this sick socity is, you would probably be brought up on charges. And even if those fell through this guys family would have probably sued you civilly for killing their son, even though you did it in self defense and defense of others.

Regardless, it is situations like this that make me rethink the idea of carrying my pistol with me everywhere I am legally abl, just in case.

And to anone who may try and bash me and call me dangerous, I have more training with weapons than most could dream of, leave that to 10 years experience in a certain military job. But I can guarantee you this, If people like me were alowed to carry a weapon with them everywhere they went, everyone around me would be that much safer for it

For Ron...
you dont need a license to have a gun, some places require you to have a concealed carry permit and you don't necessarily need to be a cop to have one of these.

Also there are some states where you are allowed to shoot a trespasser in your house as long as you feel your or your families life is in danger... however this would still be a court battle.

First you need a license to carry a gun, meaning you better be a cop, or else yes, they could indict you on manslaughter, unless you had taken a bullet in your body , then shot him. Even though that would be considered self defense, the fact that you were packing a gun without a permit, they could arrest you. If someone comes into your house illegally, and has a gun, you still can not shoot unless he shoots first, then you can shoot him. If you were a cop, and had killed the shooter, you would have been considered a hero. Man, I hate guns, not the gun itself, but the people that use them for criminal purposes, like murdering 32 college kids.

Both... if guns weren't around the crazies would find a way - all kinds of methods of killing. But if not secured, yes... they could kill. Children die from playing with them... that sort of thing. In that case, yes, guns kill because those that own them don't know enough to keep children safe.

I'm really sick of this debate, however. If you are a good gun owner and keep them safe, fine. If you aren't... you should be to blame. Plain and simple.

Oh, and an edit here - you'd be a hero since you were using it for the good - stop the insanity.

As long as people keep asking the same question over and over, I'm just going to re-post my answer....

why do people always pick out a bad incident to make it took bad for all.....
I think they should outlaw all knives since people keep getting stabbed. I mean the knife must be bad.
Outlaw alcohol too, as it kills more and destroys more families than guns do every year.
Obesity is killing more and more people, therefore we must outlaw food.
Freedom of speech is only dependent on who you are. Some people can have it, some cant.
The Internet promotes ignorance...just look at the Q&As. Down with the Internet.
They used airplanes to kill people on 9/11...we must make it illegal to fly
Lets just take all the freedoms away......

People use guns to kill people. A gun has no power unless a person is operating it. A gun can't shoot out bullets on it's own unless someone pulls the trigger.

Irony: the no CCW policy VPI used made sure that the only gun was in the hands of the murderer.
