Endnotes are in the same format as footnotes. They are numbered throughout your paper BUT the references are all at the end of the paper, instead of the bottom of each page.

An endnote is the same as a footnote but instead of putting it at the bottom of your page, you put it at the end of your paper (before the bibliography, but after you finish the paper). Because they go at the end of the paper, you number them consecutively, and don't start over again with the numbers on each page. (So you will only have one endnote with the number 1, only one with the number 2, etc.)

Endnotes come at the end of each chapter, and roughly, contain the material that would have been used for footnotes in that chapter.
