its not rude but it wont get you a star, and it'll waste 5 points you could have better kept for achieving the next level. Just try asking many questions thoroughly.

I award stars when I either think some one really know the answer and has read the FULL question and answered the whole thing, or some one who is going out of their way trying.

Try to be a little empathetic, think why the person may want the question answered and where else they may have tried or could tried so that you reply is aimed at them and not just another answer which will be forgotten.

BUT! Also bear in mind that others who have answered the question may also take a flick through to see if they have a similar answer, or even people who sont answer and want to know, so try to cater for as many people as you can!

And finaly- but just as importantly, keep the answer legnth relevant to the question. I would say a rule of thumb generally is to keep it to the same legnth as the question but this isnt set in stone, so play it by ear, some times you just cant tll (as you can see here I've gone way over! but I hope its been helpful)!!

click on the blue point variety. That takes you to an internet site that explains what all the privileges are for each point. As others have talked approximately, bigger tiers help you do extra in line with day. no longer something "particular" happens, incredibly. (yet some human beings incredibly obsess on the criteria and tiers.)

not rude maybe a little cheeky but gaining stars dont gain you any more points! if you gain a best answer and someone has thumbed up your answer that will give you an extra point or if u have 4 thumbs up that gives you extra 4

Well, lying to people is rude, so yes.

Stars don't give you points. Asking questions doesn't give you points either.

You can only gain levels by answering questions, or voting.

No, I'll give you a star. Either they will or they won't, but you're not being rude at all!

No, but I would only ask my friends who do this too instead of a perfect stranger. I'd be worried they'd think I was an *** hole.
