I don't have a turtle, I have a tortoise, and he has free run of my room (with a heat lamp and UV lamp where he can bask, of course). My bed is on the floor (My decor is kinda old-school Japanese) and he wakes me up in the morning by crawling on my feet (Thank goodness he's paper-trained, lol). He'll nibble our toes wherever we're at if he wants food. He sleeps under my computer desk (or under the printer) to be near me, because I'm on the computer a lot, and he follows me around. Chenalonians (turtles and tortoises) for some reason seem to bond with their human companions more than any other reptile, and can even be affectionate (although other reptiles can too). You're little girl is probably happy to see you, and is saying "mommy, feed me!" Their unique little personalities can be a real trip. Sometimes Herbie (that's my tortoise's name, and he's a Greek or Herman's) won't want to eat his greens. Remedy: Put carrot sticks on top of them! Carrots are his favorite food. Sounds like your turtle has personality to me ^_^

I have a baby red-eared slider. It goes to a certain spot when it is time to eat. It looks up at me and then on the ground to see if I put any food there. From what I know turtles can become tame (eat from your hand) and thet have very interesting personalities. When they are comfortable around their owner they can be very friendly. It may want you to feed it.

My turtle does the same thing except he inflats his neck and slaps the water hard enough to make a plopping noise (its really funny) but he justs wants attention and food.

Your turtle is begging for food.

You are her source of food. She sees you, she thinks you are going to feed her. Even if it isn't "time". They don't have a clock, they just know PERSON = FOOD. :)
