Do you think people would have starting screaming, "This was racially motivated!" Or do you think that people would have taken a "common sense" approach and examined it for what it was? A senseless killing?

People on here are just ignorant for the most part. Half of them would turn this into a race issue instead of just a senseless student body killing. If the person was White, race wouldn't even come up, which is so unfair and hypocritical.

It is truly sad that this young man had to commit this terrible act. It was obviously pre-meditated according to the long note he left behind. Maybe he was just pushed over the edge one too many times. And why did he pick the engineering building? It is sad for everyone. We must learn to better understand and appreciate each other so things like this don't happen again. But the sad thing is it probably will. Peace to all.

I do'nt see people saying it was racially motivated & the shooter was Asian. Any Asians in your community getting bashed for this horrible crime?
Fact of the matter is that this individual was deeply disturbed, & took out his aggresssions on innocent people, that's all.
The color of his skin or his ethnicity have no bearing on how people feel, & I ca'nt remember a single similar case when it did.

Racial. If it was black male or femal....people would automatically stereotype the blacks all over again. They would go far as agreeing with Imus. I have never actually heard of afro-american going on a shooting rampage. Majority of the criminals who leave a bloody mascre behind are usually whites ex: serial killers, unabombers. When whites commit these crimes as such stated above....why don't people vilify the whites...hmmmm

Everybody knows that ethnicity has nothing to do with this kind of crime.
Of course in the US, practically all mass murderers have been non-black.

You mean there's not a flurry about it NOW? :S

I think people would only be accusing the shooting of being a racially motivated crime if it were MULTIPLE black gunmen, not just one.
