Close, but not exactly.

Grams are in the metric system. Tons are in the U.S. system of measurement.

2.5 tons = 2.5 x 2000 = 5000 pounds. 1 pound is approximately 453 grams. So 5000 pounds would be approximately 2,265,000 grams.

1 ton = 2000 pounds

2.5 tons = 5000 pounds

5000 pounds X ( kilograms / 2.2 pound) = 2272.72 kilograms

2272.72 kg X (1000 grams / kilogram) = 2272720 grams

1ton = 2000lb
1kg = 2.2lb
1kg = 1000g
2.50 * 2000 = 5000lb

5000 / 2.2 = 2272.7273 kg

2272.7273 * 1000 = 2,272,727.3g
