I think that if you really love him, and an unfornatunate thing happened and he went to jail or prison, if you want to marry him, you should. I don't have the answer you are looking for on how it is done, but asking the jail or prison people how it done will give you the information you want. You have know this man for many years before this happened, so I will not judge your judgement.
For the people that think only bad, horrible, people go to jail or prison, I want them to stop and think, on how many people have been railroaded into jail, because of their economic status, their color, or just because someone does not like them.
Believe it or not there are many people in jail or prison that do not deserve to be there, pay attention to the news and see how many men and women (men mostly) have been let go because from the get go, they had the wrong person, and the police just wanted to solve the case, so that they could look good.
One more thing, if people do something wrong, and they pay their dues to society, don't you think they deserve another chance, I know if that ever happened to me, I would like another chance to prove that it was just something wrong I did at the time, and that now I regret it.
Your boyfriend only got six months so the bad deed could not have been that bad.
I wish you the best my child. and God bless him and God bless you for loving him despite the error committed by him.

Call the jail and ask what their policy is on getting married while in jail or check out the website (if they have one). Good luck. Marriage is a big deal and if you think you're ready...then Congrats!

DO IT!!! Why bother asking about this question? I mean you’re the one who’s going to have to deal with him… and why bother asking if none of these answers will matter to you anyways. You said it… you have already thought about this and I would—well—good for you! I wish you luck because trust me…. you’re going to need that!
