What museums should I see in London? I know about the natural science museum, what else is a must see? I'll be going in May and I've only been to the National Portrait Gallery briefly.

The Imperial War Museum had some really awesome war relics in it and it was suprisingly my favorite museum in all of London. And I have been to many! It's in Southwark I believe. You should definitely check it out. They have the Blitz experience and the Trench experience that are big attractions too. There is also the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey that are also very interesting that I didn't already see mentioned.

In addition to the excellent suggested places already noted by the other answerers, you might consider visiting the Tate Britain, for paintings by British artists; and the Museum of London, for the history of London from pre-Roman times to the 1920's. The Churchill Museum & Cabinet War Rooms is super, as well as Sir John Soane's Museum, which is called a kind of "miniature" British Museum. Don't forget the National History Museum which is right next to the Science Museum and across the street from the Victoria & Albert.

The Science Museum is fantastic, for adults and kids. Madame Tussauds and the lovely waxworks, Tate Modern is funky and The National Gallery is great. A trip to the London Dungeons is a must! You don't have to be interested in history, you learn about the history of London in a... 'special' way MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Hehe!

Two additional must-sees are the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The BM is incredible, if you like ancient history especially; the Greek, Egyptian and Roman collections are fantastic. This is where the famous Elgin Marbles from the Parthenon are. The V and A is more like England's attic; the collections there are lots of fun.
