I think I am. I always try to listen to someone that needs someone to talk to. I believe that's what friends are for to listen to and just be there for them.

I am a good listener and adviser. I have been in too many situations where it just sort of happened, I was calming and good at it, so that is who I am now. I am also lucky to have people around me who have the time and compassion to listen to me when I need it.

Yes and you are right...to really listen takes alot..a person must really care..and not be judgemental..then if advice is asked for..I will give it. If not I will be there as a friend to listen. Sometimes we only need someone who cares to listen..other times we need their expertise, to help us.
A good listener is a great friend. But we also need someone to listen to us when needed. I find at times I am there to listen..but others really are not..they are so used to me helping them, they really do not know how to handle it if I need them. That can be hard..sometimes I feel like ok I want to talk about my problems but I don't..that can be a lonley feeling.
Ciao..Dharma have a happy day!

Actually, it depends on whether or not I have a choice. If people start howling at me without warning or other method of attention-gathering, it'll go in one ear and out the other, especially if it's a daily/hourly occurrence. If someone really looks like they need someone to listen to them (I've learned how to tell), I will. Life's hard enough without keeping it all bottled up.

what, what were you saying?

lol. no, i'm not a good listening. even when i get people's attention to ask them something, i don't listen to their answer very well. the problem is that i think about everything, so if you say something to me that makes me think about it-i'll be thinking about it while you've continued the conversation. lol.

lovetotalk, you poor think. if someone talks to me about their problems for more than a few minutes, i'll honestly just start doing something else. i know it's rude, but hey.

I always try to be a good listener but am judicious with advice. Don't want to sound too pompous or know-it-all. Besides I may not even be right.

Sometimes it just the listening to the person, if you listen long enough you may hear them answer theirselves, and you then agree. Give advise only when they are ready to listen to it.

Yes I am a good listener. I'm better at listening than I am talking.

Well thats what I do. I look at the question and then thin about it as if I were there listening to the asker, then evaluate the answer i want to give and make it easy to understand. bettyk
