Just because he was from Korea doesn't meant anyone should look at other Korean's differently. He was a legalized citizen in America, he was an American, I don't feel it's necessary to even point out that he came from Korea.

I understand your viewpoint but no. I really hope not. My best friend is Korean and I just adore her and her family. I have plenty of friends with different nationalities. People are more alert however, but not because they are Korean. This guy had psychological problems this could happen to anyone, and hopefully not again. Like someone said Hui is an American citizen harming other citizens. It is different when we are attacked by different Countries like Pearl Harbor and 9/11. I feel the same way as you do I hope this wont happen. Unfortunately their will be some bozo who would think differently.

I can tell you that the Korean people are taking this incident very seriously, and are very ashamed that he was from their country. Go to the web site for the Korean embassy and read the statement from the President of South Korea. The nationalistic pride of the Korean people is such that they take this very personally and are grieving that one of their own citizens (yes, he was a resident alien in the US for 14 years) would do something this horrible.
I just hope that the American public does not go on a witch hunt towards Koreans now like so many did following 9-11 towards people who are Muslims.

Yes, Cho Seung Hui was a South Korean. But he doesn't represent the korean people as a whole. That's like saying the kids who killed other kids at columbine, they were white so all white people are bad.
I like Koreans just as much as anyone else.
I hope the Koreans don't have to take any flack because of this.
Good luck!

Being half Korean and Black I can honestly say the next couple of months is going to be hell for me. Now I have to deal with all the bull about being Korean as well... My Korean friend actually had to deal with someone on the bus because of what happened and it's really sad. I think people need to be praying for the family's and not worry about some idiot who is giving Koreans a bad name... He will pay for what he has done!!!

It just really sickens me to see all these anti-korean sentiments on the web. I was just on facebook, and there are so many hateful people that generalize a whole population (the koreans) based on this one tragic event. And just because this one disturbed individual who happened to be South Korean obviously doesn't mean that ALL Koreans or even Asians are prone to violence. Also, the media isn't helping either. Every news report and photo caption mention "South Korean"......

No matter what we think you just KNOW a bunch of White people are going to go around picking on all Asians... KKK style. This is just so sad. There are so many crimes out there everyday committed by people of other races and FINALLY there is a big one commited by an Asian and everyone has to go straight to the fact that he is Asian.
For as much grief and hatred caused by this tragedy, I see there are two up sides though. First, now America can see that its loose policies on gun control (again, KKK -> NRA) has an effect on people of other ethnicities as well, not just Black and White. This means that America is finally becoming more and more of a melting pot. Second, this shows the world that given an quiet Asian guy, he can snap just as anyone can. So all you bullies out there, watch your next move if you want to pick on an Asian ever again.

I don't think Koreans should be treated differently.
Just because it was only ONE Korean, doesn't mean that the whole Korean population planned it or something.
It'd be really sad if everyone started hating Koreans. Some of my best friends are Korean, and they don't feel it's their fault, and I agree.

I totallly agree because this was a horrible tradgedy that only one psycho Korean did. Now whenever anyone sees a Korean, they're going to think that they're going to kill the country. Also the colleges are going to be racist against Koreans. I hope this is forgotten and the Koreans are not discriminated.
